If you want to get away from the tourists and crowds, this mountain is for you.
Fernie Alpine Resort is situated in the southeastern part of British Columbia. More specifically the Lizard Mountain Range. The resort receives on average 35 feet of snow! It has seven chair lifts, three surface lifts, and 142 trails. (Members will each be assigned a minimum of 20 trails to explore before being allowed to come home!) That adds up to 2500 acres of uncrowded skiing.
We will be staying at the Lizard Creek Lodge. An almost opulent establishment, home to many weary skiers and Lodge Lizards and a cozy place to swap ski stories at the end of the day.
Price is $1396 to $1525, depending upon your age and how many days you want to ski. Transportation and Club-sponsored social events are included as well. This is an incredible bargain in luxury accommodations, made possible by a favorable exchange rate, a ski resort willing to cut us a deal, and the fact the bus is based along our route. The option for singles to have their own room is available at extra cost.
This is a classic Desert Ski Club bus trip, which has been described by one of our members as, “a social hour on wheels”. With dinner and border crossing stops along the way, the six-hour ride will get us to Canada in spacious comfort and friendly company.
