Special Information for the Upcoming 2020-2021 Season - The uncertainties surrounding COVID-19
for this coming ski season

1. The club’s general meetings and board meetings will be conducted via Zoom.
2. The website will be the club’s primary method of staying in touch with its members and the skiing/boarding public. The website will be updated with the latest developments and trip information.
3. Traditional club trips are not feasible in the 2020-2021 ski season due to the impact of COVID-19:
a. Social distancing precludes sharing common transportation such as bus, plane, or club-organized carpools.
b. Social distancing essentially eliminates the room sharing that helps lower trip costs for participants.
c. Uncertainty over food and entertainment venues at the ski resorts means social events cannot be planned much in advance.
d. Membership reluctance to commit to trips early due to uncertainty of resort conditions makes it risky for the Club to provide discounted lift tickets, which must be purchased in bulk in advance.
4. Therefore, the value the club can provide in the 2021 ski season is:
a. Host informal ski events that facilitate people meeting and skiing with each other safely.
b. Host the informal events at ski resorts within reasonable driving distance of the Tri-Cities that have lift tickets covered by local seasons passes or the Indy Pass, keeping costs down.
c. Arrange discounts for accommodations for some events. Note that participants are responsible for booking their own accommodations.
5. Participants in the informal events are expected to comply with:
a. The COVID restrictions current at the time of the event for the state and county in which the event occurs, and
b. The COVID rules of the resort at which the event occurs, and
6. You participate in these informal events at your own risk. By participating, you waive any legal claims against the club, its trip hosts or its officers.
