Lost Trail, Sula, Montana

Lost Trail, Sula, Montana is home to the Powder Thursday and more powder stashes with over 325 inches of snowfall every year. lt is open Thursday through Sunday, with extended hours during holiday periods and Epic Monday hours in January and February. Lost Trail sits atop the Continental Divide on Highway 93 where Montana and ldaho meet.

THE SKI AREA

Lost Trail opened in 1938 but has been famity-owned and operated since the mid-1960's. Summit: 8,2OO ft. Vert Drop: 1,800 ft. with 5 double chairs, 3 tows. Over 60+ marked trails on 1800 acres, longest trail 2.5 mi.

THIS IS A MEETUP EVENT

This is a Meetup event, which means you pay directly for your own transportation, accommodations, lift tickets w/o lndy and social events.

LODGING

We will be staying in Darby, Mt., 30 miles from Lost Trail ski area at the Mountain Spirit Inn. While it only has 12 listed rooms, they have all been redone and some have 2 bedrooms and others are configured for 2 - 4 people. Plus, they have kitchens as well.  You can check out each room and their configurations with photos online. We stayed the night in the king room, super nice & clean!

Mountain Spirit Innkeeper is Adele (4O6) 821-3405. Say you are DSC. Lodging maybe available at Darmont lnn in Darby as well. They are very modern and nice with only 9 rooms. Also, there is Hamilton before you get to Darby (15 miles before) with more lodging options. Call Mt. Spirit for pricing.

With lndy Pass ski free 2 days. W/O lndy, purchase day passes on the LT website, price TBD when season opens.

Transportation

To get to Darby from TC's is about 6.5 hrs. by car, Highway 395 N to l-90E to US-93 to Darby approximately 400 mites. You can ski your way there, i.e., Silver Mt., Lookout Mt.

This meetup is not for everyone because of its mileage and ability to get there during the week. However, it is a unique ski area that we walked around in the summer to check it out. lt has runs for all types of skiers, and the double blacks in the White House Area look like you can really test yourself.
